Breakfast In Bed
Dusty Springfield's Dusty In Memphis is only a fiver in HMV at the moment. And only £6 on amazon. Either way it is really quite wonderful. 'Son Of A Preacher Man' you already know, and there's other joyfully familiar tracks on here too. It's one of those albums that just feels classy, everything about it is late night, elegant, soulful and seductive. If you read about Dusty, she just sounds like a cool girl, doing things her way, not afraid to say or think or be whatever she wanted, despite the chronic insecurities of her private, human side. Makes this album all the more pleasurable to listen to. The kid got soul, and she sings like a dream.
