Janie Jones

Vroooom! Time to brush the dust off the steering wheel, slip on my leather blogging gloves, pull out the choke, slip into first, put my foot down and get the Banditomobile back onto the highways of the internets. Yes, Belrico Dandito lives once more. I may not have posted for a while, but fear not, for I have not been idle. Currently whizzing around my head is a whirlwind of my favourite records of 2006 which will soon emerge, fully formed, in that greatest of things: a list. Who knows how many records this year? 20...30...50... maybe a million, me tippy typing until my digits are worn down to bloody stumps, as I justify why one obscure French electro B Side is better than everything released by Kasabian this year...
In the meantime, head over the Art Of Noise, to see me continue to be that awkward eclectic git who has to find good in everything, as I defend House Music against the barbs and just plain meanness of Caskared. Then vote for the prosecution. Just to annoy me.
And to tide you over before the grand list of 2006, here's some of the loveliness that is already making 2007 feel like a vintage year in January.
1. Klaxons - 'Golden Skans'
2. The Good, The Bad And The Queen - The Good, The Bad And The Queen LP
3. Just Jack - 'Stars In Their Eyes'
4. Jamie T - 'Calm Down Dearest'
5. Charlotte Hatherley - The Deep Blue LP
6. My Chemical Romance - 'Famous Last Words'
7. Nas - 'Hip Hop Is Dead'
8. Fall Out Boy - 'This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race'
9. Lady Sovereign - 'Love Me Or Hate Me'
10. Bloc Party - 'The Prayer'
Wanna know what they actually sound and look like? Check out my video playlist here, especially the video for Charlotte's 'Behave' which is fantastic!
Stay cool, kids. I'll be back in a minute.
Don't touch the change in the ash tray.
Or go through the glove compartment.
And if you spill any of that on the back seat I'll brain you.
