You Can't Have It All
Oh crikey, has it really been that long since I posted? Such blatant dereliction of duty. I even missed my baby blog's 3rd birthday! I'm feeling a lot of guilt right now.
Anyway, I been active. Honest. As is often the case, when I'm dead busy I don't actually have the time or energy to blog about what is going on in my world. Oh, the irony! But to sum it up swiftly, life is just peachy, ta. So what have I been up to? Let's see!
My on-again-off-again-on-again-again pub night, with my mate Tom, Rock n Roll Jumble Sale, now has it's own myspace page! Check out www.myspace.com/rocknrolljumblesale for more info and pics and tracklistings and all that sort of gubbins. Oh, and for when we're gonna do it again (May, hopefully).
My precious boombox that I've had for almost 10 years finally gave up the ghost and went to the land of deceased electronics. A great loss. It was compact, loud and possibly the most resilient thing I've ever owned. It survived countless trips to and from university, being dropped all over London and, most memorably, a large dose of my own personal vomit back in 1999. I actually had to take it apart and clean it with a toothbrush. And it continued to work for another 8 years! They don't make em like they used to nosiree.
Anyway it took me the best part of a month to find anything worthy of replacing this precious thing of beauty. Stereos now only seem to come in 2 flavours: shit and extortionate. Luckily, I stumbled into an electronics shop on Oxford Street and bought this straight off the shelf:
It plays CDs and has a radio and it is loud. This combination was unavailable anywhere else for less than a Chelsea player's weekly wage packet. Hang your heads in shame, makers of electronic noisy box things.
Oh and now seems a good time to mention what many had already guessed some time ago: I have a new girlfriend and she is just lovely. And she's reading this, so be nice.
Right, that's your lot you nosy parkers...
