I'm drifting through the streets of London, and I feel like noone can even touch me. Like a ghost floating around Finsbury Park, the West End, and what's left of Camden. Watching the sunset turn the sky blood red over the Angel. Spending hours in record shops and book stores. Drinking neat vodka from an ice sculpture's lady garden. Getting travel tips from a misty eyed French girl on the nightbus. Contemplating abstract minimalism in the Tate Modern, whilst still recovering from Valentine's night...
"What do you think of this one?"
"Er... It's very blue. Um... Shall we get a coffee?"
I remember how wonderful life is in London when you don't have to go to work. I love my job, but I've not had a proper break since last summer. And that was a very long time ago. Soon I'll be escaping these dirty gorgeous streets for just a little while.
Here are some of the simply beautiful things that have been soundtracking these dreamy days...
1. Art Brut - 'Modern Art'
2. The Breeders - 'We're Gonna Rise'
3. Amiina - 'Hilli (At The Top Of The World)'
4. The Duke Spirit - Neptune LP
5. Helen Love - Radio Hits Volume 1 LP (on sparkly yellow vinyl! Yes!)
6. New Order - 'Ceremony'
7. Various Artists - Juno Soundtrack CD
8. Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend LP
9. MGMT - 'Time To Pretend'
10. Spiritualized - 'Come Together'
Little D's a fucked up boy who dulled the pain, but killed the joy...
Well... not for now. Au revoir.
