Ok, you want to rock the party? This is how you rock the party. Choose a great venue, ie not the Koko. Shepherd's Bush Empire. Good size, good sound, good choice. Get a great up and coming support act. Ladyhawke would be a good choice. Very good. Like a modern day indie Fleetwood Mac going disco. Very very good.
After a suitable period of anticipation, emerge from the darkness and play a blitz of hits and hidden gems from your two albums. Be sure to make witty rejoinders between the songs, whilst never letting such tomfoolery get in the way of the music. Then build and build to an encore closing explosion of 'The Great Escape' that turns the whole venue into a mad mosh pit. "Take it like a man, well fuck that!" Finish hard. Lights up. Play Survivor's 'Eye Of The Tiger', immediately, at full volume on the PA. Watch a crowd leave, sweaty, smiling and doing air guitar all the way home.
We Are Scientists are really good at this rock business. Pure class. Can't wait to see them again soon...

For those out on strike, I hope you get the rewards you truly deserve. And for those looking for work, I hope you move on to something even bigger and better. I believe in you. Solidarity comrades! Tonight we are slaves to noone... but the rhythm!
